Sprint Nextel Corp. CDMA affiliate iPCS Inc. said its chief operating officer, Alan G. Morse, has left the company by “mutual agreement.”
Tim Yager, the carrier’s CEO, will assume Morse’s duties until a new COO is named.
The carrier separately released its customer figures for the fourth quarter. IPCS plans to release its full financial results March 14.
IPCS significantly improved its performance during the quarter, adding 27,000 net new customers-an increase of 43 percent from the 18,900 customers gained during the prior year’s period. The carrier bumped up its gross additions by more than 15 percent to 74,100, and also cut its average monthly churn rate during the period from 2.6 percent in 2005 to 2.4 percent in 2006.
The operator ended 2006 with about 561,300 customers.
