Sprint Nextel to tweak pricing plans

Sprint Nextel Corp. plans to revamp its pricing plans, emphasizing its early night-and-weekend off-peak calling and mobile-to-mobile calling among either iDEN or CDMA users.
The company said it will launch its new “Power Pack” individual and family plans on Jan. 14. Sprint Nextel said that the new plans will feature “minute buckets at competitive price points, no roaming charges, and unlimited mobile-to-mobile calling”-which nearly all of its plans already offer. The carrier said that it will allow customers to push the start of unlimited night calling back to 6 p.m. for an additional $5 per month; it currently costs $10 per month for individual plans. The 6 p.m. option will cost $10 per month for family plans and cover up to five lines.
The new plans will also offer the choice between unlimited on-network calling for CDMA customers or unlimited push-to-talk calling via iDEN phones, according to Sprint Nextel.
