Sequoia snaps up $25M in funding

SAN DIEGO—Sequoia Communications, a fabless RF semiconductor company, said it raised $25 million in its series E round of financing.

The round was led by BlueRun Ventures and included participation from Tallwood Venture Capital and Motorola Ventures. As part of the round, Rob Schwartz, a principal at Third Point Ventures, will join Sequoia’s board of directors.

The company said it will use the funds to bring its SEQ5400 chip into full volume production, add to its existing set of baseband partnerships and accelerate development of new products that use the its FullSpectra architecture.
