IPWireless ships HSDPA chipsets

SAN BRUNO, Calif.-IPWireless said it has begun commercially shipping its HSDPA chipset with inherent advantages of its TD-CDMA technology.

The company said the chipset works in plug-and-play PCMCIA cards and desktop modems for UMTS TDD networks in the 1900 MHz, 2500 MHz and 3400 MHz bands.

“The availability of devices powered by the first 3GPP chipset with the full implementation of HSDPA is another reason that UMTS TDD is a critical part of a complete 3G solution,” said Bill Jones, chief operating officer at IPWireless.
