WASHINGTON-The Export-Import Bank of the United States approved a $15 million long-term loan guarantee to support the sale by U.S. suppliers of cellular equipment, software and services to Colombia Movil, a wireless carrier in Colombia.
Suppliers of the contract include Hewlett-Packard Co., Portal Software Inc., Siebel Systems Inc., Oracle Corp., Intec Telecom Systems and Tibco Software.
Colombia Movil is a new operator in Colombia and will use the technology for a combined operations and business support system for its cellular network.
“Colombia is a market that offers many opportunities for U.S. exporters,” said Ex-Im Bank Chairman Philip Merrill.
