Ericsson to manage Western Wireless’ CDMA MMS offering

STOCKHOLM, Sweden-L.M. Ericsson said it will host, operate and manage Western Wireless Corp.’s multimedia messaging service offering throughout the carrier’s domestic CDMA coverage area.

Ericsson noted that in addition to supplying the platform and integrating the application with Western Wireless’ network and billing system, it will be responsible for around-the-clock operation and maintenance of the MMS service.

Western Wireless recently announced a number of wireless data services for its CDMA-based network, including its BREW-based Hello2Fun offering and a 1x-based wireless Internet access service.
