Intuicom to provide communications for City of Fremont, Calif.

BOULDER, Colo.-Intuicom Inc. announced it has been selected to provide the communication hardware and software for an integrated wireless communications system for the City of Fremont, Calif.

For the system, which will provide real-time position and data communications to Fremont’s dispatchers, vehicle operators and system planners, Intuicom will supply its SmartGPS products for in-vehicle positioning and communications as well as its Communicator based radio infrastructure. CompassCom Inc., of Centennial, Colo., who chose Intuicom, is the prime contractor on the Fremont project and will oversee deployment of the system.

Intuicom said the first phase of the project, which will equip about 50 vehicles, is expected to begin service by November 2002.
