SINGAPORE—Mobile suppliers and operators gathered this week for the EDGE Operators Forum, held in conjunction with CommunicAsia 2002 in Singapore.
The group of 70 people, representing 20 GSM operator organizations and mobile system suppliers, reaffirmed their commitment to EDGE as a viable path to third-generation services. The group named three key factors that it believes are essential to the success of EDGE—devices, networks and applications, referred to as DNA for short.
The next EDGE Operators Forum is scheduled for Sept. 16, to be held in conjunction with 3GSM Asia Pacific, also taking place in Singapore.
