ATLANTA—EMS Technologies Inc. said it filed a patent infringement lawsuit against LGC Wireless Inc. in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia in Atlanta seeking monetary damages and a permanent injunction against LGC.
The suit concerns a patent titled “Distributed Architecture for a Wireless Data Communications System,” awarded to EMS in 1999. The patent covers the use of multiple repeaters to extend access of a base station to mobile phones and other wireless devices.
