Nokia wins Saudi contract

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia—Nokia said it has won a contract from Saudi Telecom Company (STC) to supply a GSM network valued at US$200 million. The network will include a GSM 900 MHz and 1800 MHz base station subsystem solution and professional services, as well as Nokia Ultrasite that supports GSM, Enhanced Data Rates for Global Evolution (EDGE) and wideband-CDMA (W-CDMA) technologies.

The expansion will cover Makkah and Medinah and increase capacity to 5 million subscribers.
