HONG KONG-Hong Kong’s Office of the Telecommunications Authority released an information memorandum regarding its upcoming third-generation licensing and invited applications for the licenses.
The memorandum sets the reserve price for the first phase auction at 5 percent of network turnover, subject to an annual minimum payment of $6.4 million for each of the first five years, and increasing annual payments from year six onward during the 15-year license period.
Under an announced royalty scheme, each licensee will pay the same percentage royalty on its network turnover. Applications are due on Sept. 18, with an auction planned for September.
