SAN DIEGO-Leap Wireless International Inc. stands to gain licenses covering about 2.4 million people, the company announced, due to deal with American Wireless License Group L.L.C.
The licenses cover Birmingham and Tuscaloosa, Ala.; Jonesboro, Ark.; and Jackson, Miss.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Leap said it now owns or has rights to acquire licenses covering about 73 million potential customers.
