WirelessNorth

Personal communications services carrier WirelessNorth named David Charles president of the company. Charles served as director of operations with Montana Power Co., where he was responsible for 120 employees serving 110,000 electric and natural gas customers in the Missoula division, covering Western Montana. In addition, WirelessNorth announced three promotions. The company’s board of directors elected Nels Baden chief executive officer. Baden had been serving as interim CEO. Before joining WirelessNorth, Baden was at Onvoy, where he served as director of business development. Laura Slobotski was promoted to director of engineering at WirelessNorth. Previously, Slobotski was engineering and field operations manager with the company. Pamela Schelling was appointed senior manager of client support. Schelling most recently was assistant manager of client support at WirelessNorth.

General Magic

Voice applications service provider General Magic Inc. appointed Dr. Danny Lange chief technical officer. Dr. Lange currently is responsible for the high-level architecture of General Magic’s magicTalk communications platform. Prior to joining General Magic, Dr. Lange was a visiting scientist at IBM Tokyo Research Laboratory.

Andrew Wireless Products

Andrew Corp.’s Wireless Products division hired four new managers to handle its wireless accessories business. Genevieve Hadley joins the company as regional account manager for the western United States. Before joining Andrew, Hadley was an account manager for wireless accessories at Qualcomm Inc., where her accounts included AirTouch, Bell Atlantic Mobile, GTE Corp. and USWW. Paul LoPiccolo is the new northeast regional account manager. LoPiccolo’s territory covers 19 northeastern states and Canada, and he will lead four independent representative manufacturer companies. Prior to joining Andrew, LoPiccolo was a territory manager at NMI Corp. Chris Martinez was appointed southwest regional account manager, covering California, Nevada, Hawaii and adjoining territories. Martinez was senior account executive with SkyTel’s Customer Products Group. Danny Stewart joins the company as southeast regional account manager. Stewart will be responsible for accounts involving Alltel Corp., BellSouth Corp., AT&T Corp. and Price Wireless. Stewart will also head the manufacturer’s representative force. Before joining AWP, Stewart was with PC Cellular, a division of CellStar Corp.

Nortel Networks

Clarence Chandran was appointed chief operating officer of Nortel Networks Corp., where he will oversee day-to-day operations of Nortel’s global carrier and service providers, and enterprise businesses including sales, marketing, research and development and customer care. Chandran will also be responsible for integrating the company’s acquisitions, human resources and information systems organizations. Chandran previously was president of Nortel’s global carrier and service provider business.

GSM Alliance

Juan Carlos Jil was elected the first chairman of the GSM Global Roaming Forum at the North American GSM Alliance L.L.C. Jil is currently international business manager for Entel, a GSM 1900 service provider in Chile.

Eagle Wireless International

Roger Ihde has joined Eagle Wireless International Inc., a supplier of broadband wired and wireless equipment and services, as director of technology business solutions, focusing the internal and external resources of the company on managing the Webflyer Convergence Set-Top Box product line. Ihde’s department will also be responsible for coordinating all after-sale service requirements for the CSTB product line. Prior to joining Eagle, Ihde was director of technology business solutions and director of integration services for CompUSA.

Wysdom

Charles Hoffman, president and chief executive officer of Rogers Wireless Inc., was appointed to Wysdom Inc.’s board of directors. Prior to joining Rogers, Hoffman was northeastern region president for Sprint PCS, where he oversaw operations in New York; Philadelphia; Boston; Pittsburgh; Washington, D.C.; Hartford, Conn.; and Albany, N.Y.

LifeMinders

LifeMinders Inc., a wireless direct marketing infrastructure company, announced Tim Haley as president of LifeMinders Wireless. Haley will lead the company’s wireless platform unit and will be responsible for elevating LifeMinders’ position as a provider of Web and wireless direct marketing to businesses. Haley previously was with CommSite International Inc., serving as president and chief executive officer.

UPS Logistics

Scott Shively was appointed vice president for global wireless solutions at UPS Logistics Group, a subsidiary of United Parcel Service Inc. In the newly created position, Shively will be responsible for global account management and business development, as well as for providing end-to-end supply chain solutions for the telecom industry and tailoring the company’s expertise to fit wireless customers’ needs. Before joining UPS Logistics, Shively was senior director and general manager of carrier services at CellStar Ltd.

VideoTele.com

Gen. Merrill McPeak, former chief of staff of the United States Air Force, was appointed to the board of directors at VideoTele.com Inc., a provider of MPEG-2 digital encoding, demultiplexing and grooming solutions. McPeak is currently chairman of the board at ECC International and also serves on the board of directors at Tektronix Inc., CenterSpan Communications, Trans World Airlines Inc. and several pre-initial public offering start-up companies.

LGC Wireless

Optical wireless networking solutions supplier LGC Wireless appointed David Stanley-Brown to serve as vice president of business development, focusing on developing strategic channels and markets, strengthening partnerships with key carriers and exploring wireless data and wireless Internet software business opportunities. Prior to joining LGC, Stanley-Brown served as a senior executive at AT&T Wireless in its Advanced Services Organization.

@Track Communications

Dr. William Osborne, dean of the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Texas at Dallas, was named to @Track Communications Inc.’s board of directors. Prior to joining UT-Dallas, Dr. Osborne was director of the Center for Space Telemetering and Telecommunications Systems at New Mexico State University.

MobileLogic

Mobile business solutions provider MobileLogic Inc. named Ronald Spears president and chief executive officer. Spears will be responsible for developing and executing all aspects of MobileLogic’s strategy as a mobile data solutions provider for the corporate user. Before joining MobileLogic, Spears was president and CEO of e-business solutions provider CMGI Solutions.

CellPoint

Lars Persson, currently president of Telia Mobile International, has joined CellPoint Inc.’s board of directors. Persson is also a member of the board of directors of Wireless Maingate and CyberCom.

NDC

Daniel Choy was promoted to accounting manager at The National Dispatch Center Inc., a provider of multilingual operator dispatch services. Choy will be responsible for processing monthly financial statements, budgets and forecasts for NDC and its affiliate, Servistream. Choy previously was a financial analyst.

Wireless Spectrum Services

Wireless Spectrum Services Inc. named Michael Foster vice president of business development and marketing. Foster will oversee the company’s sales force, new offices and territory east of the Mississippi River. Foster was formerly director of business and marketing for Wireless Spectrum.

Conductus

Thomas Yang and Bryan Takamiya have joined Conductus Inc. as director of marketing and director of North American sales, respectively. Yang will be responsible for all marketing and
product management activities in his new position. Takamiya will oversee all sales operations for North America. Yang was director of product
management for Lucent before joining Conductus. Takamiya worked for Powerwave Technologies, where he was western regional sales manager.
