HELSINKI, Finland-Singapore wireless operator M1 demonstrated a General Packet Radio Service packet data call over its live network using Nokia Corp.’s GPRS technology.
“While other operators are only starting to introduce GPRS in their networks, M1 is pleased to have completed an end-to-end packet data call over GPRS,” noted Patrick Scodeller, director of engineering at M1. “GPRS will be an important carrier for M1’s future data services, as the amount of Internet-based traffic in our mobile networks grows.”
