FCC approves Arch-PageNet license transfer

WESTBOROUGH, Mass.-Arch Communications Group Inc. and Paging Network Inc. announced the Federal Communications Commission has approved the transfer of paging licenses from each company to the new combined company they will form upon completion of their merger.

The FCC also granted a waiver of narrowband personal communications services license ownership restrictions, giving the combined company 90 days after the merger is completed to comply with the ownership rules. This may not be necessary because the FCC is considering eliminating the NPCS ownership rules in a separate proceeding.
