SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.-The Commercial, Government and Industrial Solutions Sector of Motorola Inc. reported a definitive agreement to acquire the Communications Systems Division of Communications Systems Technology Inc., a privately owned electronics business.
Motorola noted that CSD’s product portfolio of voice/data switching, remote-control and advanced-communications solutions will strengthen the company’s offerings in other markets outside of the defense arena.
“This acquisition will capitalize on the synergy between the organizations as we continue to offer compelling solutions that improve the operational performance of our defense customers,” said Mark Fried, corporate vice president and general manager of the Motorola Integrated Systems Division. “The addition of CSD’s people and technology strengthens our position in the defense market and provides us with even greater capabilities as we pursue new business opportunities in commercial markets.”
The transaction is expected to close during the second quarter.
