Tegic Communications Inc. signed a global licensing agreement with Voxson, allowing Voxson to integrate the T9 Text Input technology for Chinese and European languages into next-generation wireless phones.

Triton Network Systems announced it has signed a multi-year, multimillion dollar deal with Advanced Radio Telecom Corp., a broadband wireless Internet Protocol access service provider, to supply broadband wireless equipment. The deal includes Triton’s 100 Mbps Invisible Fiber Internet and SONET OC-3/SDH STM-1 radios for carrying fiber-quality services over radio frequencies in the 20 GHz to 40 GHz range.

Wireless e-commerce security has become an increasing priority, as both L.M. Ericsson and Sonera SmartTrust announced new security initiatives. Ericsson’s Mobile Communications group is working with RSA Security Inc. to develop new security solutions for its upcoming smart phone products. Particularly, the smart phone R380 is expected to feature authentication for secure corporate access. Meanwhile, Sonera and Gemplus said they will introduce a Subscriber Identity Module card for Global System for Mobile communications phones, featuring digital signature and Public Key Infrastructure encryption. It is expected to be commercially available in the first half of the year.

As a member of the wireless and high-tech industries, Audiovox has decided to live in more natural surroundings by moving its stock from the American Stock Exchange to the Nasdaq Stock Market. The company’s stock will trade under the VOXX symbol. The move from the AMEX to the Nasdaq signals, according to the company, a commitment to the rapidly growing technology sector and establishes the Audiovox brand name more firmly with investors around the world.

TenFold Corp. said SkyTel, an MCI WorldCom Inc. company, signed a $22.5 million contract with it for a complete enterprise business support system. According to the agreement, TenFold will deliver its Internet-based Enterprise Relationship Manager to transition SkyTel’s business model to the Internet, including marketing, sales, service and billing functions.
