Users satisfied with telematics service

DALLAS-A recent survey commissioned by ATX Technologies Inc. shows most consumers who have installed the company’s telematics system in their vehicle are very satisfied and would recommend the system to friends.

The telematics system allows users to summon roadside assistance, ask for routing and location assistance, and remotely unlock doors or diagnose vehicle problems.

The report showed 87 percent of those surveyed described their system as either excellent or good. The survey also showed 83 percent of ATX’s customers would definitely or probably recommend the system to friends.

“It’s a glowing report for automotive applications of telematics,” said Steve Millstein, president of ATX. “Motorists are obviously getting great value from their systems.”

Customers used the remote door unlocking feature most often, with 39 percent of respondents saying they had used the service. Thirty-four percent of respondents said they have used the routing and location assistance service, and 18 percent said they have used the roadside assistance function. Of those surveyed, 74 percent reported they would definitely or probably have the system installed in the next automobile they purchase.
