Global Wireless is proud to announce the addition of Sandra Wendelken as its managing editor and to announce the recent receipt of two awards for its first year of publication.
Wendelken joined the staff of Global Wireless in August after three years as editor of Radio Resource International, a publication covering the global two-way radio market. Prior to that she was managing editor of Business Geographics, a trade magazine covering the mapping software industry. Wendelken can be reached by e-mail at swendelk@crain.com.
In addition, this summer Global Wireless received two awards from the American Society of Business Press Editors (ASBPE).
Global Wireless received for 1998 a national award for new publication design and a regional award for its Standards Focus on third-generation cellular. The articles in the Standards Focus were written by Europe correspondent Stuart Sharrock, Japan correspondent Yaeko Mitsumori and U.S. correspondent Lynnette Luna.
Founded in 1964, ASBPE is the professional association in the United States for editors and writers employed in the business, trade and specialty press. ASBPE is widely known for its annual competition for editorial, graphics and online excellence.
