TELETOUCH RECORDS $1.7 MILLION LOSS

TYLER, Texas-Teletouch Communications Inc. announced record revenues and earnings before
interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, as well as positive operating income for the second quarter and six
months ended Nov. 30, 1998.

Total revenues in the second quarter increased to $12.3 million, compared with $11
million in the second quarter of fiscal 1998. The company said it recorded a net loss, prior to preferred stock dividends,
of $1.7 million, or 41 cents per share.

Teletouch’s EBITDA increased to $3.9 million, or 32 percent of total
revenues, in the second quarter of fiscal 1999, compared with $3.5 million, or 32 percent of total revenues, in the same
quarter of fiscal 1998.

“We grew pagers in service by 10.7 percent to 366,900 in the second quarter of fiscal
1999,” said J. Richardson Carlson, president and chief executive officer of Teletouch. “We experienced
solid growth in new paging customers and reduced churn as a result of our new marketing programs.”
