STOCKHOLM, Sweden-L.M. Ericsson introduced its new T 28 dual-band mobile phone based
on Global System for Mobile communications technology.
The phone’s functions include voice control, automatic
world clock and new batteries that use lithium polymer technology. The phone also includes a feature called Profiles
that allows users to program the phone to automatically accept or decline certain calls or adjust the ring signals and
volumes in certain situations.
Talk time for the phone is estimated at up to 4.5 hours and standby time at up to 200
hours, said the company.
Ericsson said the handset is the smallest GSM mobile phone it has developed to date. It is
scheduled to be available in volume by mid year.
