MORRISTOWN, N.J.-Bellcore announced that BellSouth Cellular Corp. has become the first wireless service provider to license its NetPilot system, which automates local number portability translations and configuration management for the Signaling System 7 network across equipment types.
By automating SS7 configuration management, the NetPilot system improves network reliability and saves carriers time and money, Bellcore stated.
