ATLANTA-World Access Inc. will acquire Cellular Infrastructure Supply Inc. for a combination of cash and stock, according to a letter of intent.
The transaction is subject to completion of a due diligence investigation of CIS and execution of a definitive agreement by March 28. World Access said the staff of CIS will continue to operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of World Access.
Headquartered in Burr Ridge, Ill., CIS sells equipment and related design, installation and technical support to cellular, personal communications services and other wireless service providers.
Steven Odom, chairman and chief executive officer of World Access, said, “The acquisition of CIS is in line with the company’s strategy to broaden its offering of wireless switching, transmission and access products and fully support its customers as they build new and upgrade existing telecommunications networks.”
World Access develops, manufactures and markets wireline and wireless switching, transmission and access products primarily for the United States, Caribbean Basin and Latin American telecommunications markets.
