Madrid to head multicultural effort at Verizon

IRVINE, Calif.-Verizon Wireless named Oscar Madrid associate director of Multicultural Marketing for the carrier’s 12-state West Area, which includes Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming, where he will oversee a team focused on the Verizon Wireless’ visibility among Spanish-speaking business customers.

“We have tapped into this market over the past few years and have found it to be among our fastest-growing business segments,” explained Gregg Yacovone, west area director of marketing for Verizon Wireless. “The multi-cultural team will develop and execute strategies, pricing and promotions to attract an even greater number of customers in this segment.”

Madrid previously served as associate director of sales operations for Verizon Wireless’ Southern California Region.
