Interspire grows e-commerce platform, Austin workforce

E-commerce software firm Insterpire plans to expand its footprint in its Austin, Texas office from around 40 employees to 70 workers by the end of 2011.

The Sydney-based company announced that healthy growth will likely lead to hiring VP positions in the area of engineering in the Australian office and growth in the executive branches of marketing and technical support at the Austin office with an increase in sales positions as well.

To entice top talent, Interspire is offering a $10,000 referral fee per hiring of executive position in lieu of using outside recruiters. The company had $7.4 million in 2009 revenue and was listed last year as the 44th fastest growing software company in the United States by Inc. Magazine.

Interspire claims more than 40,000 clients, from small, local operations working out of the home to larger, corporate firms. The company’s main e-commerce software offering, BigCommerce, allows users the ability to create an Internet store and accept payments from mobile devices such as iPad, iPhone, Android, Palm Pre and Blackberry. Payment options such as going through credit cards or PayPal are the norm, and design options are also available.

The firm said their software solution allows tools for users to market products via email and on social networking venues and provides profile enhancements for search engine optimization.
