Daniel Dribinski, founder and CTO of Cellwize, spoke with RCR Wireless News on the company’s transition from 2G/3G to more of a focus on machine-to-machine and the “Internet of Things.”
Dribinski said that 2G has become a so-called “garbage collector” for network traffic, and mM2M traffic may end up on 2G networks, but increased efficiency is needed in order to free up 2G networks for M2M traffic rather than mobile data. Operators, Dribinski said, are not maintaining 2G networks as well as they used to, and are shifting their resources – both network resources and people – to 3G and 4G networks.
Dribinksi also discusses the value-driven self-optimizing network offerings Cellwize offers its customers and how it differs from its competitors.
