Ora Electronics Inc. announced its Signal Plus antenna performance kit, which the company said is designed to improve the performance of portable cellular telephones. Using a connector cable, users can connect the kit antenna directly to the antenna output of the portable phone which improves the handset’s sound quality, range and system access, the company said. Signal Plus is available in a magnet mount version to mount on the roof of a vehicle as well as the Delta Plus version, which mounts on the inside window of a vehicle. InfoCellular Inc. introduced its line of customer management products. Included in the company’s line of retail and telemarketing customer acquisition products is the InfoCell Plus, an integrated software product for point of sale, inventory control, sales management and financial control. In addition, the InfoCell Converge is an integrated client/server product for customer acquisition and asset management. The company’s line of direct sales customer acquisition and retention products includes the InfoCell OnBoard, a laptop-based sales package that provides a step-by-step guide for customers to choose the wireless services to fit their needs. A wireless telephone system designed to be rapidly deployed in emergency situations was introduced by SpectraLink Corp. The system enables up to 32 pocket telephones to be used in emergency situations by interfacing with a variety of private branch exchange or key systems, the company said. Mark/Space Softworks Inc. introduced its PageNow product, which the company said forwards e-mail, voice mail and fax messages from subscribers’ personal computers to their text pagers. NEC Corp. began packaging California Eastern Laboratories’ Silicon MMICs in smaller ultraminiature SOT-363 plastic surface mount packages. The devices, which have a “TB” designation, are compatible in performance and pin-out configuration to NEC’s UPC2711T/2712T and UPC2745T/2746T amplifier integrated circuits. The UPC2711TB is designed to be used as a Lo buffer amplifier in DBS tuners, and the UPC2712TB is designed for use as a radio frequency buffer amplifier. Both amplifiers are ideal for engineers who want to miniaturize their products, the company said. Allen Telecom Group Inc.’s Site Products Division introduced a series of tower mounted amplifiers as a lower-cost alternative to adding base stations to networks. Allen Telecom said the amplifiers, which improve the uplink signal carrier-to-noise ratio and increase the usable cell footprint, are available for cellular and personal communications services applications.
