Wireless Hall of Fame judges chosen

DENVER-RCR announced the judges who will select the inductees to the first annual Wireless Hall of Fame, sponsored by RCR and Shorecliff Communications Inc., in conjunction with the Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association and the Industrial Telecommunications Association.

The event, created to recognize and honor those people who have made significant contributions to the advancement of the wireless telecommunications industry, will take place March 20 at The Phoenician resort in Scottsdale, Ariz.

The panel of 14 judges, chosen by representatives from RCR, ITA and CTIA, includes:

John Sudmeier, publisher of RCR.

Mark Crosby, president of ITA.

Tom Wheeler, president of CTIA.

Fred Day, telecommunications attorney at Day & Cukier, Falls Church, Va.

John DeFeo, president, founder and chief executive officer of telecommunications investment firm, Incepta L.L.C., Seattle.

Joe Gallelli, communications system consultant at The Gallelli Group Inc., Geneva, Fla.

Tom Gutierrez, high tech and wireless attorney at Lukas, Nace, Gutierrez & Sachs, Washington, D.C.

Len Kolsky, consultant for Motorola Inc. and attorney for Steptoe and Johnson L.L.C., Washington, D.C.

Liz Maxfield, a former CTIA executive, who now consults to the private sector.

Elizabeth R. Sachs, attorney at Lukas, Nace, Gutierrez & Sachs, specializing in mobile radio, enhanced specialized mobile radio and paging industries, and 220 MHz and 450 MHz licensees.

Richard Shiben, a former official in the Federal Communications Commission’s private radio bureau, now working in the private sector.

Richard Siber, associate partner and director of the wireless practice at Andersen Consulting, Wellesley, Mass.

Michael Sullivan, telecommunications attorney at Wilkinson, Barker & Knauer, Washington, D.C.

Bob White, telecommunications consultant and executive recruiter for Pennington Consulting Group, Pennington, N.J.
