DALLAS-Texas Instruments Inc. announced it entered into an agreement to acquire Butterfly
VLSI Ltd. for approximately $50 million.
Butterfly, with sites in Tel Aviv, Israel, and Santa Clara, Calif., develops
low-cost chipsets that enable radio-frequency wireless communications in the 900 MHz and 2.4 GHz frequency bands,
said TI. The company employs about 60 people who will become part of TI.
