LITTLE ROCK, Ark.-Alltel Corp. announced it is launching a new advertising campaign
produced by The Martin Agency that will appear in Alltel markets across 22 states beginning Feb. 21.
“The
campaign is very direct and straightforward with a hint of humor that we feel reflects the down-to-earth personality of
our company,” said John Koch, Alltel’s executive vice president of marketing.
The campaign will include
print, radio, television and outdoor advertising. Joel and Ethan Coen, the brothers who co-directed such movies as
“Fargo” and “Barton Fink,” were chosen to direct the Alltel TV spots. The television portion of
the campaign features an “Alltel guy” talking face-to-face with a variety of people about Alltel and
telecommunications issues, said the company.
