DALLAS-Texas Instruments Inc. reached a definitive agreement to acquire Dot Wireless Inc., a privately held company that develops and markets third-generation wireless Code Division Multiple Access technologies, software and transceiver reference designs for convergence of data and wireless communications services.
TI said the acquisition will enable it to expand its offerings of programmable digital signal processors and analog-enabled wireless solutions across all 2.5G and 3G wireless standards and markets, including IS-2000.
The acquisition, expected to be completed by the end of the third quarter, is being made through a stock-for-stock transaction valued at $475 million.
