SANTA CRUZ, Calif.-Market research firm Evans Data Corp. said its new Database Developer’s Survey found a third of today’s developers are targeting wireless or mobile devices with their applications, and half have expressed interest in an infrastructure tool for creating others.
“Wireless is now,” said Janel Garvin, vice president of research at Evans Data. “Database developers are responding to a clear need within their organizations for remote and mobile access to corporate information and data.”
Of the applications being developed, corporate intranet and data access had the most demand, while consumer-related e-commerce applications had the weakest demand, according to the survey.
