Alamosa, PVT enter CDMA network deal

LUBBOCK, Texas-Alamosa Holdings Inc. reported an agreement with PVT Networks Inc. for PVT to construct a CDMA personal communications services network in Artesia, Roswell and Carlsbad, N.M.

PVT will market services under the Sprint PCS brand name and feature Sprint PCS products and services.

“The markets to be launched by PVT Networks are part of Alamosa’s affiliated territory under its agreement with Sprint PCS,” said David Sharbutt, chairman and chief executive officer of Alamosa. “This innovative agreement will allow these markets to be launched several months earlier than we had previously targeted, as well as free us from the capital expenditures needed for their deployment. Alamosa will continue to manage this portion of the Sprint PCS Nationwide Network and maintain all subscribers under this agreement.”
