Under the partnership, i2i Systems and Mavenir will promote the implementation and development of technology for O-RAN networks in Turkey
Mavenir has partnered with Turkish network software firm i2i Systems, with the aim of boosting collaboration for the development of Open RAN in Turkey.
i2i Systems and Mavenir will work together to promote the implementation and development of technology for O-RAN networks in the country.
“This partnership further strengthens the O-RAN ecosystem and is intended to deliver the appropriate level of localization required to accelerate the delivery and adoption of O-RAN in Turkey. The collaboration with i2i Systems will support operators in building open and disaggregated architecture for containerized, cloud-native, AI-driven, automated networks,” said BG Kumar, president of Mavenir’s Access Networks, Platforms and MDE.
“Open RAN is a key market requirement for CSPs as they build their 5G networks. With Mavenir, i2i Systems intend to work closely with operators to adapt cloud-native containerized microservices Open RAN solutions to fit the local market requirements,” said Osman Meral, i2i Systems’ CTO.
The Turkish company said it offers full-stack end-to-end solutions covering all needs of service providers and digital operators.
Earlier this month, Mavenir announced the closing of a $100 million capital raise, which will support the company’s efforts to enable the digitization of telco networks with O-RAN, IMS and converged packet core.
The company noted this new funding adds to the $250 million raised in 2022. The fundraising round was anchored by Siris, a technology focused private equity firm and Mavenir’s largest equity holder, along with investment from two highly strategic ecosystem partners.

Meanwhile, Mavenir has been recently selected by Indian operator Bharti Airtel for the deployment of O-RAN systems as part of the telco’s current nationwide 5G rollout.
According to Indian press reports, Bharti Airtel is deploying Mavenir’s 4G and 5G O-RAN technology at some 2,500 sites in rural parts of India and plans to expand this to 10,000 sites nationwide.
The two companies have been already working together on O-RAN developments. In April 2022, Bharti Airtel had carried out what it claimed to be India’s first O-RAN-based live 5G network validation in partnership with Mavenir.
The O-RAN-based 5G validation has been conducted in Chandigarh and Mohali, using the 3.5 GHz band test spectrum allotted to Airtel by the Department of Telecom (DoT). Speeds of over 1 Gbps were validated with the equipment deployed and configured in NonStandalone (NSA) mode and using commercially available 5G mobile devices.
