LAKE CHARLES, La.-US Unwired Inc. added 35,107 personal communications services subscribers during the third quarter, ahead of the 14,574 customers added last year and 28,000 added during the previous quarter. The carrier ended the quarter with 235,966 subscribers.
Post-pay customer churn dropped from 2.5 percent last year to 1.8 percent this year, with PCS average revenue per user jumping from $71.83 to $89.10 including roaming.
Total revenue increased from $29.3 million during the third quarter last year to $71.3 million this year. Net losses attributed to shareholders fell slightly from $22.1 million, a loss of 28 cents per share, to $21.6 million, a loss of 26 cents per share.
