Ecuador sets WLL minimum prices

QUITO, Ecuador-Ecuador’s telecom regulator Conatel said it set the base prices for wireless local loop licenses in the country at $1.1 million for each license. The regulator plans to auction three blocks of frequencies in the 3.4 GHz to 3.5 GHz band.

Reuters reported the auction, originally scheduled to begin today, has been delayed until 24 July.

Seven companies have been approved to participate in the auction. The companies include mobile operator Entel Chile, Partnership TVCable, Public Companies of Medellin, Ecuador Telephony Corp., Impsat of Ecuador, Beijing Guang Huan Telecom Group and Sakon Holdings Ecuadro.
