WASHINGTON-While action is still continuing in the auction for 700 MHz C- and D-block licenses, it is slow going and no bidders dropped out from round 30 to round 36.
Bids were placed for the Austin, Texas, and San Diego consolidated (statistical) market area licenses during round 36.
Aloha Partners’ bid of more than $5 million for the Los Angeles-Anaheim, Calif., CMA license still stands as the highest bid. Aloha still has the only economic area group license bid of more than $4.6 million for the Pacific economic area group license.
At the end of round 36 gross bids totaled nearly $108 million. No bidders dropped out so there are still 103 active bidders.
Aloha Partners has made the most high bids, 71, totaling more than $21 million.
LIN Television Corp. bid nearly $1.4 million for the Austin, Texas, CMA license.
David M. Gates bid nearly $2 million for the San Diego CMA license.
