WASHINGTON-The Federal Trade Commission today said it reached a settlement with a California firm prohibiting it from selling products purporting to reduce consumers’ exposure to mobile-phone radiation.
Last year, the FTC filed suit against Comstar Communications Inc. and its president, Randall Carasco, to force the company to stop making false and misleading claims about radiation protection patches marketed as WaveShield 1000 and WaveShield 2000.
The FTC filed a permanent injunction order with the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California on April 28.
