Legislation would ban Internet gambling

WASHINGTON-A House Judiciary subcommittee last week approved legislation that would effectively ban most Internet gambling on all communications platforms, including wireless networks.

The bill would prohibit the use of credit cards and other financial instruments to make payments on debts incurred in illegal Internet gambling. A companion bill is being considered by the Senate Banking Committee.
