Malaysian operator selects IPWireless technology

SAN BRUNO, Calif.-IPWireless said its Mobile Broadband system has been selected by AtlasOne for its national broadband wireless network in Malaysia. The agreement is part of a $180 million deal signed by AtlasOne and Thales last week, the company said.

Thales successfully trialed the IPWireless non-line-of-sight system.

AtlasOne is planning to service 500,000 subscribers on its 2.5 GHz network by 2005, offering Internet access and multimedia applications to residential and business customers.
