ClearSky buys Preferred Voice

ClearSky Mobile Media Inc., which provides managed mobile data services and content for regional wireless carriers, said it has acquired the assets and clients of Preferred Voice Inc.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
ClearSky said the acquisition adds nearly 2 million subscribers in addition to giving it control of the “Rockin’ Ringback” platform, which it said it will integrate with its Unified Media Center single content storefront.
“PVI and ClearSky have enjoyed a mutually beneficial business relationship for several years, first with PVI as a supplier of downloadable content to ClearSky, and more recently as partners to deploy single content storefronts to a number of regional carriers,” said ClearSky president and CEO Bill Poellmitz. “The tight integration between ClearSky’s UMC and PVI’s “Rockin’ Ringback” platform, now in production for over six months, is already the foundation for incremental data revenue growth for ClearSky’s existing and new clients.”
