Regional carrier SunCom Wireless Holdings Inc. announced a new program that allows customers to accumulate rewards that can be used toward the purchase of a new wireless phone.
The SunCom Anytime Phone Rewards program applies $5 per month to the customer’s “phone rewards bank,” which can be used at any time as a credit toward the cost of the new phone. Customers can accumulate up to $120 at the end of a two-year contract toward the price of a new device.
“Customers simply don’t want to wait until they are at or very near the end of their contract term to get a great deal on a new phone,” said Larry Britt, SunCom’s VP of marketing. “With phone styles and functionality changing and improving, customers are far less content with keeping a phone for two years.” SunCom’s new program, he said, “solves this for customers by providing them monthly rewards that can be used to discount any phone at any time.”
SunCom has more than 1 million subscribers in the Southeastern U.S., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
