Cloud services include contextual marketing, mobile commerce
ItsOn, which provides cloud automation and virtualization services, announced an agreement with the biggest operator in Africa aimed at driving revenue through personalized content and service delivery.
MTN Group picked ItsOn technology to help launch new services geared toward not just connectivity, but also mobile commerce and content-based marketing.
MTN Group claims more than 230 million customers in Africa and the Middle East. According to the companies, ItsOn will provide a platform designed to integrate with existing IT infrastructure and “includes a device application and virtual connected cloud service, which can instantly deliver a number of seamless operator-consumer transactions, including simple discovery of mobile services, contextual commerce offers, easy payment options, loyalty offers, compelling customer retention strategies, segmented marketing” and support services.
“As we expand into emerging markets, we’re seeing an untapped base of new smartphone users with a growing appetite for new services and digital content,” said Albert Fernandez, group chief consumer officer of MTN.
“We want to make it easier for our customers to access these services and content, act on contextual offers and purchase new goods directly from their device. We believe ItsOn’s platform is the best solution for this need on the market today.”
