First region outside Japan to roll out standardized cloud platform
Tokyo, February 28, 2011 — Fujitsu, a leading provider of ICT business solutions today announced the unveiling of its Global Cloud Services portfolio in Australia and New Zealand, the first region outside Japan to roll out a trusted and standardized global cloud platform. Combining the scale of public platforms and the security and customization of private networks, the cloud platform is designed to provide customers with the best of both worlds from Fujitsu’s Australia Data Centre operations.
The Australian launch of the global cloud service is part of a rolling program which by year end, will see Fujitsu as the first vendor in the world with premium Cloud offerings based in its datacenters located in geographic regions, including Singapore, USA, UK, and Germany, coupled with a globally standardized approach to service and pricing. Fujitsu’s Cloud Services offer a fully flexible model for ICT infrastructure, platforms, and applications, allowing enterprises to match technology systems and costs directly to changing business needs. The offering is also differentiated by providing the highest levels of availability, depending on customer requirements, and its highly sophisticated self-service portal.
The Fujitsu approach delivers a single point of contact for the provision and management of all infrastructure requirements through its Cloud Services Portal. The interactive self-service portal allows customers to adjust services, change capacity and usage, and manage billing, in real time with actual pay per use.
Fujitsu’s global cloud platform, known as the On-Demand Virtual System Service in Japan, was brought online at the Tatebayashi System Center in October 2010. The cloud service is already being employed by a large number of customers in Japan.
