CHICAGO—ALK Technologies Inc. and Qualcomm Inc. have partnered to interface ALK’s FleetCommander product with Qualcomm’s OmniTRACS mobile communications system to provide a homeland security solution, focused on creating a safe environment for transportation companies and their customers.
OmniTRACS offers tracking of fleets of vehicles, communications between driver and fleet dispatch and data sharing with authorized third-party response agencies. ALK’s FleetCommander will interface with OmniTRACS to add features like automatically alerting fleet managers and dispatchers when vehicles are off planned routes.
