Nokia seeks 5-percent cap on W-CDMA royalties

HELSINKI, Finland—Nokia Corp. is advocating a 5-percent cap on wideband-CDMA royalty rates to encourage greater third-generation growth and innovation.

The company said the cap will “further promote the growth of the mobile industry, support sustainable competitive business opportunities, and usher in a new and exciting era of mobile services and applications.”
