Ireland-based Druid Software has announced a deal to supply private LTE and 5G componentry to German critical comms system integrator Hytera Mobilfunk (HMF). HMF has developed a “brand new private 5G radio solution”, called 5G Smart Box, which will utilise Druid Software’s Raemis system for the network core. A statement said the pair will “cooperate more closely in the future”.
HMF, based in Bad Münder in Germany, has been developing customised professional mobile radio (PMR) solutions based on TETRA and, latterly, LTE and 5G, for mission critical services in the industrial, utility, and transport sectors, as well as for security and rescue forces. It claims its “core expertise” is “comprehensive project support from a single source” – in other words system integration, from system planning through to system management.
Druid Software’s LTE and 5G core solution can be flexibly deployed in HMF’s standalone 5G (5G SA) radio system, the firm said. Raemis is also deployable in Wi-Fi.
