Germany-based industrial IoT specialist MYNXG has recruited Nokia to deploy a private 5G campus network at its development centre Nuremburg to run the rule over the technology as a platform for industrial-grade networking and integrate with its own IoT platform offering.
The company said it will use the 5G setup at its new industrial IoT interoperability test centre to develop new solutions for mission-critical industrial IoT, as well to test equipment and sensors for a range of OEM and customer projects.
MYNXG offers networking integration for the industrial sector, claiming to set the “de facto security standard for operational technology” with a tamper-proof industrial blockchain-based backend, as deployed by “numerous blue-chip industrial players”.
The firm has integrated 5G, based on Nokia’s plug-and-play Digital Automation Cloud (DAC) offer, into its MYNXG IoT platform, which works with sundry applications for condition monitoring for shop floor equipment, product life cycle and process automation, supply chain asset management and access control to sites, processes and data.
Bernd Möller, chief executive at MYNXG, said: “Our goal is to be able to offer our customers robust, and certified end-to-end secure industrial IoT solutions, so that they can drive the automation and digitalization of their processes. By integrating Nokia’s 5G technology into our overall industrial IoT technology platform, we have not only found an ideal solution for testing IoT systems, but also the basis for further marketplace development.”

The pair said they will work on joint solution development. Nokia claims to have signed with more than 220 enterprises globally for private wireless networks deployments, including Deutsche Bahn, Lufthansa Technik and Toyota Production Engineering.
