Rockwell Automation has acquired India-based systems integrator MESTECH Services for an undisclosed fee. It said the deal will enhance its digital-change offer, spur business in India, and provide a new channel for PTC solutions.
Rockwell Automation took a $1 billion stake in PTC last year, to enable customers to make good on the “promise of industrial IoT.” PTC’s platforms for IoT, industrial connectivity and augmented reality (AR) – ThingWorx, Kepware, and Vuforia, respectively – have been integrated with Rockwell Automation’s own FactoryTalk suite of manufacturing execution system (MES), analytics and industrial automation platforms.
The MESTECH deal will expand distribution of the FactoryTalk offer, which has come under PTC’s stewardship, and is being sold in conjunction with its IoT and AR solutions.
MESTECH, founded in 2008, offers manufacturing execution systems (MES) and manufacturing operations management (MOM), as part of a consultancy service that also includes system design and deployment, asset management solutions, and staffing. It works in discrete, hybrid, and process manufacturing sectors, including life sciences and automotive.
Matthew Fordenwalt, vice president and general manager for systems and solutions at Rockwell Automation, said: “India is one of Rockwell’s fastest growing markets and MESTECH’s footprint and expertise will enable us to implement solutions faster, helping our customers increase their connectivity, efficiency, and productivity.
“At the same time, MESTECH will be able to leverage Rockwell’s products and solutions in the areas of control, process, power information solutions and industrial IoT.”
Yatin Sankholkar, managing director at MESTECH, said: “[The deal] will enable us to help more customers simplify their industrial transformations and accelerate their production timelines… We will be able to expand our market access and offer more customers the benefit of our strong industry expertise.”
MESTECH, already an accredited systems integrator for Rockwell Automation, is headquartered in Pune, with sites in Germany and the United States as well.
