SOLiD partners with Cheytec for enterprise DAS

SOLiD is the latest company to partner with New Jersey-based Cheytec, a company formed to focus exclusively on in-building wireless solutions for enterprise customers. Cheytec has unique distribution agreements with radio vendors Ericsson and Nokia, and last year the company announced a partnership with enterprise DAS provider Zinwave. Now SOLiD says it will also turn to Cheytec to supply radio equipment for some of its distributed antenna systems. (More about Cheytec.)

“It’s an invaluable partnership and we’re really excited about getting it out into the marketplace,” said Ken Sandfeld, president of SOLiD Americas. “They have relationships with the operators and have the relationships with the OEMs and they put it all together in a nice package.”

Sandfeld said the partnership should help his company to be more responsive to corporate customers. He said that when these customers decide to invest in a DAS they want to move quickly to solve their indoor coverage problems.

“The problem is the operators are large and they’re not able to facilitate getting the signal sources in a timely manner,” Sandfeld said. “So what Cheytec’s done is really make that all available.”

“We look forward to delivering this new combined offering to the middleprise with SOLiD,” said Cheytec CEO Jarrett Bluth. SOLiD typically defines the middleprise as buildings of between 100,000 and 500,000 square feet. Larger properties can often secure a carrier-funded DAS, and smaller ones can buy carrier-supported indoor small cells to cover dead spots in their buildings, but the middleprise buildings are often unable to find an affordable solution.
